The Asian Australian Alliance Women’s Forum in Victoria, was inaugurated on May 7, 2016, at the same period as the National Conference and the official launch for the Asian Australian Alliance in Victoria (AAA VIC). The primary focus of the Asian Australian Alliance Women’s Forum in Victoria (AAAWF VIC) is the same focus as what the New South Wales branch is working on, which is looking at:

  • Culturally competent domestic violence services in Victoria and linking these services together as a one stop shop;
  • Working on educational information for Asian Australian community leaders, who are normally the front line and the first point of call when domestic violence issues arise;
  • Looking at an innovative leadership mentoring model for Asian Australian women;
  • Advocacy and empowerment programs and projects looking at pushing Asian Australian women in leadership and decision making positions.

In 2015, Australian Senator Lisa Singh accepted the position as honorary patron for the Asian Australian Alliance Women’s Forum (AAAWF). The 2016 – 2017 period will be a busy one with many of the project’s the forum has focused on will bear some fruit.

If you are living in Victoria and interested in being involved and would like to find out more, please fill in the form on the “Contact Us” page or email the Asian Australian Alliance (AAA) on
