Asian Australian Alliance Women’s Forum (AAAWF) National Convener, Anjana Regmi was awarded an Edna Ryan last Friday for her work in “Community Activism”. In 1974, Edna Ryan argued that women should receive the same minimum wage as men when submitting a WEL report to the National Wage Case. A proud feminist and the advocate for equal pay, Edna Ryan is a remarkable and amazing woman.
This can be said for Anjana, a woman of conviction and passion about helping women, particularly with Asian Australian women in the areas of empowerment in leadership and domestic violence.
Anjana received the award alongside many other notable women, and spoke with her heart which earned a loud applause. AAA is very proud Anjana and her work.
