AAA Campaigns

The 2013-2014 have been a huge year for AAA and its projects and campaigns. The largest has been its success in its Project 18C campaign. This was a six month campaign which achieved national media attention, and had over eighty local councils across the nation pass resolutions opposing the changes to Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act.

Project 1855 is a joint effort with various Asian Australian and historical organisations looking at advocating the State and Federal Government to provide a Statement of Regret for the White Australian Policy. This is an ongoing campaign.

With over 10% of Australians stating they have Asian heritage it is time that Australia celebrates the diversity of our contributions in a month each year known as Asian Australian Heritage Month. This is a campaign coordinated by AAA for the 2015 period to see this occur in 2016.

In the 2016 – 2017 period AAA focused on building and expanding its network to cover most of the East coast of Australia. It is projected that by the end of 2017, AAA will have branches established across the entire East Coast, as well as in WA. in 2018, there are plans to cover the other states in Australia.
